I am a convert to the Catholic Church, along with my husband and daughter. We all joined the church about five years ago here in Dallas and remain blissfully happy with our move. I left behind almost two decades of ordained ministry in protestant churches, and my husband weighed deep personal and professional attachments to the Lutheran church into which he had been baptized as a college student.
In this blog I will write about the experience of being a Catholic as it unfolds day to day, sometimes in flashes of insight and at other times in moments of pained misunderstanding. My writing will sometimes be flawed and on occasion lucid, as my understanding of my church is equally flawed and only lucid by great grace. But I , as we all are, have been sent to be a witness, and so I pray that through the incidentals of my life God's love and charity might be made known and transported to hearts who long to know more. It is my hope to be, as Mother Theresa hoped to be only God's pencil. To be that would be the greatest fulfillment of all. Please pray for me as I will pray for you that we might all lose ourselves as we seek to discover more intimately who and for whom we were sent to be.
